Life Story for
Daniel Keith Hoffman, age 48, of Madison, passed away on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at his residence. He was born September 5, 1969 in Madison, the son of Joseph W. and Rosamond (Scott) Hoffman.
Mr. Hoffman was a 1988 graduate of Madison Consolidated High School, and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science at Indiana University Southeast.
He served in the United States Air Force, and had worked for the Indiana Department of Child Services for more than twenty years. He was a case worker in Jefferson County and Scott County, and a supervisor in Switzerland County. He was elected as the Madison 1st District City Councilman in 2015, and was currently serving in that position. He also served on several boards and committees, and was a member of the American Legion, Jefferson Post #9, Madison.
Mr. Hoffman enjoyed photography, walking in downtown Madison and talking with people.
He will be sadly missed by his daughter, Rachael Colleen Hoffman of Madison; his son, Ryan A. Hoffman of Madison; his sister, Teresa Ann Campbell and her husband, Terry of Seymour, Tennessee; his twin brother, David Hoffman and his wife, Kris of Madison; and nieces and nephews Jennifer and Andrew Campbell, and Hannah, Bek, Thomas and Sarah Hoffman.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers: twin infant brothers John and James Hoffman and Joseph “Joey” Hoffman.
Memorial services will be conducted at 6:00 PM Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at Lytle Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Vail Chapel, 117 Holt Drive on Madison’s hilltop. The Honor Guard of Jefferson Post #9, American Legion will provide military services at the funeral home.
Friends and family may call from 4:00 to 6:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
In accordance with his wishes, Dan's ashes will be scattered in the Puget Sound at Point Defiance in Tacoma, Washington.
